Smart lighting can help protect you and your home from burglars because the dark winter months are the most dangerous. In Germany, for example, more burglaries take place in December than in any other month, about three times as many as in july. This is backed up by the latest figures from the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA). It gets dark early and people are either at work or out christmas shopping. The houses or apartments with dark windows advertise that nobody is at home. By the way, the most popular time for burglaries isn’t at night, but between 10am and 10pm.
With smart routines and irregular lighting, however, you can give the impression you’re in and therefore protect your home. If there had been Klyqa back then, Kevin - Alone at home would have been much shorter and less exciting!
If you’re away from home for a longer period of time, we recommend that you set between three and ten different routines for your smart lighting to mimic real life if you were home..
Routine 1: In the room facing the street, the light goes on at 10am three days a week. To save electricity, 20% to 40% dimmed light is sufficient.
Routine 2: On two different days the light in the same room goes on at 9.50am.
Routine 3: On the last two remaining days, the light in this room may not come on until around 10.20 am.
Routines 4 to 9: For some movement, the lights should also go on and off. Create routines that turn the light off in one room and on in another. Again, make sure that the routine changes on different days of the week.
Routine 10: From about 4.00pm you can increase the brightness of your smart lamps.
Oh yes, in the future you will also be able to connect your light to the upcoming Klyqa alarm system. Spotlight on the burglar!
